Creating a Human Variant

To present the product in context, you can insert human actors in the presentation experience, and define their posture. You can also work with the human actors found in an inserted product (or its subproducts).

Note: This feature is available only when you have the appropriate role.

  1. Do either of the following:
    • Create or insert the human actor you want as an option for your variant.
    • Select a human actor found in an inserted product (or its sub-products).
  2. Optional: Edit the human actor's posture or properties. For more information, see Editing Humans.

Note: Make sure that you close the Edit Human panel.

  3. In the Variant panel, create a human variant line.

For more information, see Creating Variant Lines and Variants.

  4. In the 3D area or in the tree available in the Project panel, select the human actor you want as an option for your variant.
  5. In the Variant panel, in the Human line area, click to create the first variant thumbnail.

Your first human variant is created.

  6. Optional: Rename the variant thumbnail if needed.
  7. To define another variant, insert another human, or edit the current human actor's posture or properties.

Tip: If a line contains variants with several humans, only the humans contained in the active variant are visible. If a line contains variants with different human postures, in the presentation mode, a smooth animated transition is applied between postures when switching from one human variant to another.

By combining these possibilities, you can simulate the appearance of animated humans in the presentation.

  8. In the Variant panel, at the upper right of the Human line area, click .

  9. Optional: Rename the variant thumbnail if needed.
  10. Repeat steps 7 to 9 as many times as required.

Other human variants are added to the human line.

You can showcase these and other variants in a stage variant. For more information, see Creating a Stage.
