Working With the Project Template Budget

You can list the budget for a project template, if a budget exists.


Before you begin: The project template must exist. See Creating or Copying a Project Template.
  1. From the Project Templates page, in the navigation pane, click Budget.

    A project template can have only one budget. If the template does not have a budget, you can create one. See Creating or Copying a Project Template.

  2. View the following information:

    Item. The name of the budget, if one exists. Also listed are any cost categories and cost items in the budget.

    Template Enforcement. Indicates whether the budget structure (cost categories and cost items) can be modified. TRUE does not allow modification to the budget structure. FALSE allows modification to the budget structure.

    On premises only: This attribute is based on a property setting that determines whether you can change this attribute.

    Interval Period. The time interval for tracking budget costs. Values can be Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, or Project Phase.

  3. To view the properties of the budget, click the name of the budget in the Item column. See Project Template Budget Properties Page.
  4. Click an action on the toolbar to work with the budget:

    Create Budget. This option displays only if the project does not have a budget. See Creating a Budget for a Project Template. A project template can have only one budget.

    Enable Edit . Modifies budget plan details for the selected budget name. See Editing Information for a Project Template Budget.

    Add Cost Item. Adds a cost item (cost center).

    Delete Cost Item. Deletes the selected cost categories or items from the budget.

    Delete Budget. Deletes the selected budget.
