Simulating Operation without Computing Resulting Product

You can simulate an operation when the output is computed as a Manufacturing Assembly.

Before you begin: Open the data that can be simulated and has a General system with a General operation implementing a manufacturing assembly. Go to Me > Preferences> Manufactured Item Definition.

  3. Drag the Manufacturing Assembly to a General system in the System Editor.
  4. Right-click the General system and select Define Operations from the context menu.
The Define Operations dialog box appears.

In the Output Products column, the name of the output product for a general operation, which implements a Manufacturing Assembly is shown.

  5. Select General system and click Play to simulate.
  6. Click to open the HTML report for the general system.

    Notes:
    • It is impossible for a manufactured item to have multiple outputs because the multiple manufactured items cannot have the same output.
    • The output of a General operation implementing a manufacturing assembly can be computed on the fly from the inputs to the assigned manufactured item such that the constituents are located at their design positions.
