Creating a Rebar Wire from an Existing Curve

You can design a rebar layer from a curve by selecting Wire selection. The Wire selection creation mode allows you to design a rebar by selecting an existing curve.

Before you begin:
  • Create a concrete part with a rebar object to help you organize your concrete structure.
  • Create the rebar features inside a geometrical set under a 3D shape.
  • Define the working context on the created geometrical set that will accommodate the rebar features.
Note: For more information, see Rebar Features Creation: Recommendation.

About the Wire Selection Mode
  1. From the Reinforcement section of the action bar, click Rebar Creation .
  2. Click Wire selection to define a rebar layer based on wires.
  3. Select an existing curve in the 3D area.
The Wire box is updated accordingly. A dedicated rebar support curve axis system flag appears:

    Notes:
    • You can convert your wire to define it by points or convert it in Sketcher.
    • Depending on the wire you selected, the Sketcher and or Picking Points options can be unavailable.
    • If the curve contains several domains (at least two), do not define a pattern, select No pattern in the Pattern tab.
  4. Optional: Modify the curve axis system by selecting the context toolbar options of your choice:
    OptionDescription
    Replace Replaces the axis system.
Edit Axis System Edits the axis system.
    Move Moves the axis system.
    Isolate Isolates the axis system.

If no pattern is defined, this step is not relevant.

  5. Configure the rebar position, adjust parameters, configure the pattern if necessary, and specify hooks and bends.

See About Configuring the Rebar Position, Patterning, Handling Bar Extremities and Handling Bends.

  6. Click Apply.
