Creating a Material from a Substance File

You can create covering materials from substance data.

Modifying Materials with Substances
  1. From the Rendering Scene Design section of the action bar, click Create Appearance Data from Substance .
  2. In the Material Setup Information Area, select a material type from the list.
  3. In the Appearance Setup Information Area, select an appearance type from the list.
  4. In the Substance area, click the folder icon then browse your filetree to select the substance file to use.
    • The corresponding substance graph is displayed in the Select a Substance Graph to import area.
    • A preview of the selected substance is displayed as well as the available substance parameters.

  5. Click OK.
  6. In the Material Browser, click the arrow next to the material of your choice then click Apply.
  7. Click to apply the material onto the object.

The material is applied with the selected substance.
