Inserting Transitions and Applying Conditions

You can create and insert a transition in a state machine diagram. Once the transition is created, you can apply a condition to the transition.

This task shows you how to:

  • Create a state machine diagram and activate it.
  • Create two states.

Inserting Transitions

  1. From the State Machine Diagram section, click Transition Creation .
  2. Select the two states to be related.
  3. In the panel, enter the name of the transition.

    Note: A description can be associated with the translation.

    A transition between the two selected states is created.

Inserting Reflexive Transitions

  1. From the State Machine Diagram section of the action bar, click Transition Creation .
  2. Click the state twice.
  3. In the panel, enter the name of the transition.

Apply Conditions

  1. Double-click the transition.
  2. In the Edit Condition of Transition dialog box, select the Trigger tab and define a trigger:
    1. In the Event box, select the type of event.
    2. In the Trigger box, define the event.
  3. In the Guard tab, define a guard:
    1. Select a flow.
    2. In the Attribute list, select an attribute.
    3. In the Operator list, select a value.
    4. In the Value list, enter a value or keep the current value.

      Note: The default value is the current value of the attribute.

    5. Click Add to insert the expression
    6. Optional: to create a combination of expression, click AND or OR and repeat Step a to e.
  4. In the Effect tab, define an effect by entering the type of action to be invoked in the Behavior box.
