The Properties tab displays details about the object.

Viewing and Modifying the Properties of an Object

This table lists the details about the selected object. You can click to edit these details. Not all fields can be edited.

When editing, you can click Add Extensions to include additional attributes. An extension is a set of attributes. The dialog box that opens lists the extensions that are already attached, and you can start typing to search for the extension you want to add.

Note: The Add Extension command is supported on premises and on the private cloud only.

If you select an instance in a structure, the Properties tab displays the properties of the reference and the Instance tab displays the properties of the instance.

Field Description
Type

The type of object.

Title

The user-defined title of the object.

Name

The unique identifier of the object, automatically defined at creation.

Revision

The revision level of the object.

Revision Comment

Comments about the revision.

Description

The description of the object, if defined. If you enter a URL, an email address, or a File Transfer Protocol link, this text is clickable and opens the link.

Creation Date

The date and time when the object was created.

Created From

The object from which the selected object was created.

Scale

The scale of the selected object.

Collaborative Policy

The collaborative policy of the object, such as Engineering Definition.

Modification Date

The date and time when the object was last modified. If not modified, this date is the same as the Creation Date.

Maturity

The current maturity state of the object.

Owner The owner of the object.

To change the owner, use 3DSearch to select a user.

Important: You can only select a user that is in the same collaborative space and organization. For more information, see Changing the Owner of Objects and Moving Objects to Another Collaborative Space or Organization.

Organization

The organization in which the selected object was created.

Collaborative Space

The collaborative space the object belongs to.

Locked By

The person who locked the object.

Manufacturable/Procurable

The object assignment behavior.

Turn on this option to indicate that how the object is to be acquired, either to be manufactured or procured, is to be part of the manufacturing definition. Turn off this option to indicate that acquisition of the object is to be ignored in the manufacturing definition.
