Development Settings Page

Development settings identify a specific setting module and version in a DesignSync Server vaults that can be used by developments. A development can use any number of development settings. Also, more than one development can use a specific development setting.

Required access roles:

  • App-specific: Defect Engineer
  • Baseline: Leader or a user with Review and Approve (RWA) license

To access this page:

  1. Open the required development. See Opening a Development
  2. In the navigation pane, click Settings.

Columns

Column NameDescription
NameThe name of the development setting. Click to open the development setting.
RevisionThe revision value of the development setting.
State

One of these values:

  • Reference
  • Make Copy
  • Make Branch

DescriptionA detailed description of the development setting.
Is MirroredYes or No to indicate if the development setting module is mirrored for the context development. When viewing the list of all development settings (not the Development Settings category for a development, this column is blank.
Is DefaultShows if the development setting is the default setting for the context development. When viewing the list of all development settings (not the Development Settings category for a development, this column is blank.
URLThe path to the settings module.
SelectorThe name of the branch.
Opens the development setting in a new window.

Make Default Sets the selected development setting as the default for the context development. -

Add Existing Searches for and adds a development setting to the list.

You can only add development settings that are in the Reference state.

Development settings added this way set the Is Mirrored attribute to Yes (you can edit later if necessary).

If the context development did not have a default development setting and you select more than one to add, Defect Management and Collaboration makes one the default (you can use the Make Default action to change the default if necessary).

Remove Removes the selected development setting from the list. Click OK to confirm.

You cannot remove a development setting if it is in the Make Copy or Make Branch state, or if any development that uses this development setting has any assignments.

Delete Deletes the selected development settings. Click OK to confirm.

You cannot delete the default development setting, and you cannot remove development settings if they are referenced by any assignments.

Enable Edit Toggles the page to edit mode. You can edit information in the individual marked fields or use the Mass Update menu to update the information for all items in a field at once.3DEXPERIENCE Basics: Structured Content in Edit Mode
