You can perform an action by selecting the object in the Content page
and choosing from the
More Actions menu in the Content page toolbar.
To export a document from the
Process Composer
database to your working directory, you can either check out the document or
download it.
- Check Out
-
When you check out a document, you lock the document, and it
cannot be edited by other people until you check it back into the database or
cancel the check out. If you check out a document, it indicates that you intend
to modify a file in the document. If the document is a versioned document,
Process Composer
increments the version number when you check it back into the database. If the
document is a nonversioned document,
Process Composer
overwrites the original file when you check it back into the database.
- Download
-
When you download a document, you are creating a local copy of the
document. Other people can continue to check out or download the document from
the database. If you download a document, it indicates that you intend to only
review or read a file in the document but do not plan to check in any changes.
To import a document from your working directory back into the database,
you can either update the document or check it in. When you import a document,
Process Composer
behaves as follows:
- If the document contains a versioned file,
Process Composer
updates the version number of the file; previous versions are retained.
- If the document contains a nonversioned file,
Process Composer
replaces or overwrites the file within the document.
- Update Files
-
You use update to update files in documents that you previously
checked out.
- Upload/Check in
-
You use upload/check in to update files in documents. An upload
refers to the first time the document is checked in. If the document was
previously checked out, this file action is identical to
Update.
In addition,
Process Composer
allows you to do the following:
- Viewer
-
You can view a document using the application that your browser
associates with the type of file in the document.
- Upload Images
-
You can upload images that provide a visual representation of the
contents of a document.
See
About Images for more
information.
In addition,
Process Composer
provides tools that allow you to work with large data files. See
About Working with Large Files
for more information.
