Searching in Process Composer

Process Composer allows you to search for simulation objects from the top bar. Searching is described in detail in Searching with Predefined Queries in the 3DEXPERIENCE Web Apps - Classic Guide.

3DSearch

You can use the Search field of the top bar and the 3DSearch page to search for simulation objects that have been indexed by the 3DSpace Index, such as processes, activities, and experiences. The 3DSearch page also appears when you follow a procedure that involves the selection of objects (for example, when you add referenced content to a simulation data category).

When you select an object from the results returned by the search, the table page displays detailed information about that object. The navigation pane allows you to choose the type of information that is displayed in the table page. For example, you can view the revisions of a simulation activity in the table page.

You can search for a particular type of object by entering a string representing the object's predefined query in the Search field. Process Composer displays all objects of that type, and you can use 6WTags to refine your search. In addition, you can enter text after the predefined query to restrict the search to only objects with the specified text in their name. For example, the figure below shows a predefined search for all simulation attribute groups beginning with Hybrid.

Note: Enter ? in the search field to see a list of all the strings representing predefined queries.

6WTags

You use 6WTags to refine your search. For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Basics: Filtering with 6WTags.

You can use the What 6WTags to filter the type of simulation object displayed in the Search Results window. For example, the figure below shows a search for all objects with HEV at the beginning of their name. The What > Type tag restricts the search results to only simulation attribute groups.

Similarly, you can use the How > Experience tag to filter by the experience that was used to create the simulation object. You can combine tags to create complex filters; for example, you could display all of the simulation processes that were instantiated from a selected simulation experience and have run to completion.

Your administrator must enable searching for each simulation attribute you create. When you create a simulation attribute, the attribute is indexed by the 3DSpace Index and is included in your search results only after your administrator specifically adds the attribute to the search server indexing.
