Users are assigned a combination of roles. Every Process Composer user must be assigned the Simulation Analyst role.
A standard installation of Process Composer provides the following roles:
- Exchange User
Exchange User is a Team Central role that allows the Process Composer user to create bookmark workspaces.
- Employee
The Employee role is the parent of most roles and is used in many applications. The Employee role gives a user access to workflows.
- Contributor
-
A person with the role of Contributor uses predefined objects, such as experiences, attribute groups, and
connectors, to create and run simulation processes and simulation activities. They may
also do the following:
- Modify connector options.
- Create download, upload, and delete rules.
- Add an attribute group to simulation processes and simulation activities.
- Define the parameters and attributes of a simulation process.
- Copy references or documents with content.
- Create documents or links to documents.
- Put common content into documents.
- Specify the download, upload, and delete rules for documents.
- Run simulation processes and activities.
- Create revisions.
- Perform PLM collaborative tasks, such as initiating a review.
- Author
-
A person with the role of Author creates and configures simulation processes and simulation activities that can
be used as experiences by the simulation analyst. In addition, they may also do the following:
- Create the connectors that a simulation activity uses to run simulation
applications and define the arguments and options that will be available to the
Simulation Analyst.
- Create new experiences.
- Create an attribute group and delete an attribute group that the Author owns.
- Add and remove attributes from the attribute group.
- Modify the properties of an attribute in the attribute group.
A person with the role of Author cannot create attributes.
- Leader
A person with the role of Leader reviews simulation objects in the review lifecycle state and determines if
they can be promoted to the next lifecycle state. In addition, they may also do the following:
- Create, modify, and delete an attribute group.
- Create, modify, and delete an attribute.
- Owner
A person with the role of Owner provides other users access to simulation objects to which the Owner already has access.
The following table shows the mapping between Process Composer roles and baseline behavior business roles:
Process Composer role | baseline behavior Role
|
---|
Simulation Viewer | Reader |
Simulation Analyst | Contributor |
Simulation Methods Developer | Author |
Simulation Attribute groups Administrator | Author |
Simulation Reviewer | Leader |
Simulation Access Manager | Owner |
Simulation Attributes Administrator | Leader |

Guide.
Other administrative functions, such as creating users and managing their accounts, requires the user to have an Administrative role defined in the ENOVIA 3DSpace Service. User management is described in People in the Collaboration and
Approvals User's Guide.
