Using a Parameter Expression in Rules

You can use a parameter for the following:

• To define the document title in an import, export, or delete rule.
• To define the source file name in an upload rule.
• To define the comment in an upload rule. (The comment is associated only with versioned documents; nonversioned documents do not have a comment field.)

For example, you can use a parameter expression to define the source file name and comment in an upload rule.

Process Composer evaluates the expression and displays the result in the Rules pages. See About Rules for more information. Process Composer evaluates the upload rules after importing parameters, as described in Parameters and Execution. If the expression in a rule is invalid, Process Composer will continue to run the rule.
