Working With Large Files

Process Composer provides a set of tools that allow you to transfer large files (more than 2 GB) between the database and your file system. You do not need to use these tools if you transfer large files using a simulation activity's export and upload rules.

Downloading a Large File

You can download a large file (more than 2 GB) to your file system from a selected document.

Context:

To save disk space, Process Composer saves the file using the standard data compression and archival ZIP file format. You download large files that are not versioned.

From the search menu in the Top Bar, search for and select the simulation process or simulation activity from which the file will be exported.
Process Composer displays the simulation process or simulation activity in the navigation pane and the table page.
From the navigation pane, select Content.
From the Content page, expand the appropriate category and toggle on the document from which the file will be downloaded.
From the Content page toolbar, select Actions > File Actions > Download Large File.
From the Windows Save Dialog dialog box that appears, do the following:
1. Select the folder on your file system in which the file will be stored.
2. Enter the name of the ZIP file to create and click Save.
From the window that appears, click Done when the file transfer is complete.
Process Composer downloads the ZIP file into the selected folder.

Checking Out a Large File

You can check out a large file (more than 2 GB) to your file system from a selected document.

Context:

To save disk space, Process Composer saves the file using the standard data compression and archival ZIP file format. You check out large files that are not versioned.

From the search menu in the Top Bar, search for and select the simulation process or simulation activity from which the file will be checked out.
Process Composer displays the simulation process or simulation activity in the navigation pane and the table page.
From the navigation pane, select Content.
From the Content page, expand the appropriate category and toggle on the document from which the file will be checked out.
From the Content page toolbar, select Actions > File Actions > Check Out Large File.
From the Windows Save Dialog dialog box that appears, do the following:
1. Select the folder on your file system in which the file will be stored.
2. Enter the name of the ZIP file to create,· and click Save.
From the window that appears, click Done when the file transfer is complete.
Process Composer downloads the ZIP file into the selected folder.

Checking In a Large File

You can upload or check in a large file (more than 2 GB) from your file system into a selected document.

Context: If you checked the file out, Process Composer increments the version number when you check it back in.

From the search menu in the Top Bar, search for and select the simulation process or simulation activity from which the file will be checked in.
Process Composer displays the simulation process or simulation activity in the navigation pane and the table page.
From the navigation pane, select Content.
Expand the appropriate category and toggle on the document into which the file will be checked in.
From the Content page toolbar, select Actions > File Actions > Upload/Check In Large File.
From the Check In Dialog page that appears, drag the file into the window from Windows Explorer or click Browse to find the desired file.
Click Upload to upload the file into the selected document.
