Exporting 3DSpace Data

After you have created a reference to 3DSpace data in a simulation activity, you can create a download rule to export the 3DSpace data from the database to your working directory. Download rules that access the 3DSpace database are available only for simulation activities that run on an SSH execution server.

Creating a Download Rule
  1. Create a reference to 3DSpace data using the procedure outlined in Creating a Reference to 3DSpace Data.
  2. From the search menu in the Top Bar, search for and select the simulation activity that will refer to the 3DSpace data.
    Process Composer displays the simulation activity in the navigation pane and the table page.
  3. From the navigation pane, select Content.
    Process Composer displays the data categories inside the simulation activity.
  4. Expand the appropriate category, and toggle on the reference to 3DSpace data.
  5. From the Content page toolbar, select Actions > Create Rules > Download Rule.
  6. From the Create Download Rule page that appears, select an Export Method of Use Exporter.
  7. Click to search for and select an Exporter.
  8. From the Select page, select an Exporter of either V5 Export or 3DXML Export, and click Submit.
  9. From the Create Download Rule window, click Done.
  10. If desired, toggle on the 3DSpace data to export, and select Actions > Set Input/Output > Set to be Input from the Content page toolbar.
    If you access the impact graph of the activity, the 3DSpace data appear as input to the activity.
  11. To export the 3DSpace data, you can run the activity or the step containing the download rule. See Running a Simulation Activity and Running a Step for more information.
    The data are exported to V5 or 3DXML files in your working directory.
