Editing and Deleting Slots

You can modify and delete the previously defined slots.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Open a structure that contains slots placed in it.

Modify the Slots

You can modify the previously defined slots.

From the Detail section of the action bar, click Slot .
The Slot panel appears.
Select the panel, plate, or stiffener that has the slot you want to modify.
All combinations of penetrating elements, penetrated elements, and slots are listed in the respective columns.
Select the rows to modify slots and click Define / Edit Slot .
The Define Feature and Parameters dialog box appears.
Follow the Steps 5 to 6 as explained in the Creating Slots and Collars.
The slots are modified.

Tip: To edit a slot, you can also select the slot in the work area and click Slot

on the context toolbar.

Important:

If the Linked to reference check box is selected during slot creation, the check box is available for edition. However, the parameters cannot be edited.
If the Linked to reference check box is cleared during slot creation, the check box is unavailable for edition. You can edit the public parameters of the slot.
If you clear the Linked to reference check box for the selected slots, it becomes unavailable for further edition. Once the link between the instantiated slot and the slot reference is removed, it is not possible to link them back together.

You can delete the previously defined slots.

From the Detail section of the action bar, click Slot .
The Slot panel appears.
Select the panel, plate, or stiffener that has the slot you want to delete.
All combinations of penetrating elements, penetrated elements, and slots are listed in the respective columns.
Select the required rows and click Delete slot .
The slots are deleted.
