Installing Pipeline Pilot Study Design and Tracking

You must install the Study Design and Tracking tools and protocols on your Pipeline Pilot Server to drive data creation, transfer, and status between Study Design and Tracking and Unified Lab Management applications. For example, creating tasks, querying task status, obtaining information on samples and batches, and generating reports.


Before you begin: Pipeline Pilot Server must be installed and configured according to instructions in BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot Server Installation Guide. For information on the supported version of Pipeline Pilot Server, refer to the Study Design and Tracking Compatibility Matrix.

Key Concepts
  1. Extract the BIOVIA_PipelinePilot_StudyDesignandTracking_2021XX package to an available location on your Pipeline Pilot Server machine.

    Important: Ensure that you extract the appropriate XX package for this version of Study Design and Tracking. For more information on compatible versions, see the Program Directory (http://www.3ds.com/support/documentation/program-directories).

  2. Run the installer according to the instructions in the BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot Server Installation Guide.

    • Windows: In the bin extracted folder, double-click scitegicsetup.exe to run the installer.
    • Linux: In the extracted folder, run sciinstall as a nonroot user to run the installer.

  3. Follow the installation prompts.

    Tip: When the installer requests a license, provide the location of a Pipeline Pilot license file (.lic) that includes a aep_for_apps license feature.

This installs the Pipeline Pilot Study Design and Tracking Collection, its protocols are now available for the application to run when required during user workflows.
