Managing Users in Foundation Hub for Study Design and Tracking

All users who need to access Study Design and Tracking must be available through Foundation Hub and 3DPassport. You can configure Foundation Hub to auto-provision users, this automatically adds authenticated users from Study Design and Tracking. You can add Study Design and Tracking users to a Foundation Hub group so that they do not require any additional permissions or roles.

Configure Foundation Hub User Provisioning

You can automatically provision users in Foundation Hub, rather than connecting to the same user directory as 3DPassport.

  1. From the Foundation Hub Admin and Settings page, click Applications in the Settings list.
  2. Click Application Settings and choose Foundation Hub.
    This opens a page listing all settings that are specific to the Foundation Hub application.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. In the Security section, for Allow Automatic User Provisioning, choose Yes.
  5. For Update User Account Data on Sign In, choose Yes.
  6. Click Save.

When you add new users or existing user data changes, this automatically updates Foundation Hub. For more information, see Configuring Settings > Managing Applications > Foundation Hub Settings in the Foundation Hub Administration Guide, accessible at ? > Admin Guide in the Foundation Hub header.

Create a Foundation Hub Group

You can create a Foundation Hub group with the required permissions to allow Study Design and Tracking users to a create and manage tasks and task plans.

  1. From the Foundation Hub Admin and Settings page, click Groups in the Security list.
  2. Click .
    This opens the Add Group dialog.
  3. Enter a Name for the group.
  4. From Permissions, select Foundation/Logon.
  5. Click Assign.
  6. In the Users field, enter the names of users to add to the group.

    Tip: You can add more users later, by either editing the group or assigning the group to users.

  7. Click OK.
    This closes the Add Group dialog and adds the new group to the list.
