Defining Storage Conditions

You can define the conditions in which to store the selected lots for the duration of the study on the Storage Conditions tab.

Use Existing Storage Conditions

You can select existing conditions from a list.

  1. Select the Storage Conditions tab of a study or click for the Storage Conditions table on the Test Design tab.
    This displays the lists of template available conditions and any selected storage conditions and challenges.
  2. Select the conditions to include in the study.

    Tip: Click to remove selected conditions.

    The list of selected storage conditions updates with the added conditions. If you add the same template conditions more than once, the Name indicates the number of the duplicate conditions. The tooltip for the in each row reports the Arm Start Date for that condition. This is the date and time for insertion of the required samples into the storage conditions chamber, automatically defined as the start date for the study.
    Tip: To change the arm start dates for an active study's materials and storage conditions, use the Reset Start Date action on the Samples tab of a Foundation Hub Task Plan, or the Reset Study Arm Start Date Pipeline Pilot protocol in the Pipeline Pilot Web Port.
  3. To save your changes to the study, click Apply.
  4. When you have defined all the required conditions, proceed to choose the activities for the study.

Create New Storage Conditions

You can define new storage conditions if the Template Storage Conditions list does not contain the required conditions for your study.

  1. On the Storage Conditions tab of a study, click above the table of selected storage conditions.
    This adds a new row to the table.
  2. Enter the name for the new conditions.
  3. Specify the conditions and their ranges.

    Tip: When you specify the temperature or humidity, you must also define the permitted range.

  4. Specify the challenges for the conditions.

    This defines any additional features of the storage conditions.

  5. To save your changes to the study, click Apply.

The list of selected conditions updates for this study only. The newly created conditions are not available to other studies.

Edit Storage Conditions

You can edit existing storage conditions if the conditions in the Available Storage Conditions list need to be amended. You cannot edit storage conditions during updates to a previously activated study.

  1. On the Storage Conditions tab of a study, select an existing condition or create a new one.

  2. Edit the conditions as required.

    Tip: When you specify the temperature or humidity, you must also define the permitted range.

  3. To save your changes to the study, click Apply.

The edited condition remains in the list of selected conditions and is used for this study (and any clone from this study) only. Any changes are not available to other studies employing the same condition. If you remove the condition from the list of selected storage conditions, the edited definition remains available for this study only.

Organize Storage Conditions

You can change the order of the storage conditions in the study so that the design matches your planning.

  1. Select the Storage Conditions tab of a study.
  2. To change the order of the rows:
    • Click in the row of the storage condition you want to move, and then drag the row to a new location within the list.
    • Select any empty area within the row (outside of its text fields), and then drag the row to a new location.
    The selected storage condition shows a blue background during moving. The target location displays as a plain blue inserted row until you place the moved storage condition there. The moved storage condition remains selected until you add or remove a storage condition from the list or click another tab of the study.
  3. To save your changes to the study, click Apply.
