The Tree Structure

The panels are made of plates. When first created, panels have only one plate attached under them. However, it is possible to make partitions which leads to creation of more plates.

Note: You can:
  • Edit geometry (support, offset and limits) at the panel level.
  • Edit material and orientation either at the panel or at the plate level.
  • Edit a panel with one plate either at the panel or the plate level. It is recommended not to edit the plate attributes in the tree.

Seam Panel

When you create seam to a panel, it is split into multiple plates. The image below shows how a panel is split into two plates.

You can identify the multiple plates created after seam operation in the plate set under the panel node in the tree. The largest plate after seam operation replaces the original plate in the plate set and inherits all its properties. The seam operation is reversible.

Break Panel

When you break a panel, new panels are created. Unlike seam, break operation is irreversible.

Break Profile

When break is added on a stiffener or a beam, new stiffeners or beams are created. Unlike seams, break operation is irreversible.
