Filtering a Structure Using Unit Criteria

You can filter a configured structure by units. The configuration filter criteria includes the unit that you select and also automatically includes any model versions, manufacturing plans, and product configurations that the selected unit are allocated to.

Before you begin:
  • Select a single root object whose structure you want to filter, then open the configuration filter pane. For more information, see User Interface: Filter Commands.
  • Define at least one model as the configuration context for the root object. For more information, see Editing the Configuration Context.
  • Ensure that you have the proper role to specify criteria for the configuration filter. If you have the Configuration Engineer license role, you can specify configuration filter criteria using the Edit Variants and Options from Configurator command. If you have only the Collaborative Industry Innovator license role, you cannot use this command.
  1. To specify how you want the filtered structure displayed based on whether changes to it have been approved through a change action, select one of the following:
    OptionDescription
Official View Displays the updated view of the structure after the changes are approved through a change action. The model criteria is taken into consideration.

Select if you are combining change action criteria with model criteria in the configuration filter.

Projected View Displays the most recent view of the structure before changes are approved through a change action. The model criteria is taken into consideration.

Select if you are combining change action criteria with model criteria in the configuration filter.

Note: You see this list if you have the Configuration Engineer license role. It is not displayed if you have only the Collaborative Industry Innovator license role.

  2. To specify the unit criteria for the configuration filter, do the following:

Note: Unit effectivity criteria is available for use in a configuration filter only if your Administrator has enabled it. It is not available by default. For more information, see Installation and Setup | Administrate3DEXPERIENCE Platform |3DSpaceCollaborative Spaces Control Center |Configuring Content for the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform |Configuring Effectivity.

    1. If it is not already selected, select the Unit check box.
    2. To select the unit to add to the configuration criteria, in the Unit field, click .
    3. From the list, select the unit.
    4. Click OK.
  3. In Filters panel, click Apply.
Important: You receive a warning message if you try to create a configuration filter with unit criteria combined with any other type of configuration criteria, where at least one unit from the model dictionary is in the allocated state (allocated to either the model version, manufacturing plan, or product configuration). After you acknowledge the warning message, all criteria other than the unit criteria are automatically removed from the configuration filter specification.
  4. Optional: Create or save the filter.

The configured structure is filtered to show only the objects that meet the specified unit criteria, including any model versions, manufacturing plans, and product configurations that the unit is allocated to.
