You can use Antenna Placement to evaluate the installed performance of antennas at positions on a platform that you select. The simulation incorporates the effects of the surrounding platform that might influence antenna performance.

Antenna Placement is a native app that helps you:

  • Access CAD geometry on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to represent the platform (for example, a vehicle, an aircraft, or an electronic device) on which to position your antennas.
  • Include one or more antennas, represented by CST Studio Suite® projects that you previously saved to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, in your simulation.
  • Define one or more candidate locations for placing each antenna on the platform.
  • Run electromagnetics simulations using CST Studio Suite.
  • Examine the simulation results, including tables of key performance indicators, families of 2D radiation pattern plots, and interactive 3D contour plots of directivity.

After you run simulations of the installed antennas, you can use the Performance Trade-off app to compare the antenna performance at each installation location. For more information about performing a typical antenna placement trade-off study, see Workflow.
