Substructures with Simpack Flexible Body Data

You can now export substructures containing flexible body data for use in multibody dynamic analyses with Simpack. In addition, you can import substructure data from a Simpack .fbi file for use in the structures apps.
Using a substructure generation step, you can now generate data for flexible bodies, such as inertia matrices for finite rigid body motion and recovery matrices for calculating displacements at eliminated nodes. You can export the substructure into a Simpack flexible body input file (.fbi) for modeling linear flexible bodies in a subsequent multibody dynamic analysis. Since .fbi files contain substructure data, you can import the data for use in the structures apps. The data is first converted into an Abaqus substructure .sim file and then integrated into the product structure.
Benefits: You can now transfer substructure data for flexible bodies between Simpack and the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

Additional Support for Nastran

You can now import and export additional connection, mesh, and property information from and to Nastran, respectively.
The following Nastran data cards are either newly supported or have additional support for import to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform:
  • CGAP (connections)
  • PGAP (connections)
  • CONROD (meshes)
  • PROD (properties)

The following 3DEXPERIENCE features are either newly supported or have additional support for export to Nastran:

  • Ties (connections)
  • Surface-based contact for tie surfaces (connections)
  • Coupling parameters (connections)
  • Axial connectors (connections)

Benefits: The additional support of Nastran data improves your ability to work with Nastran data using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
For more information, see Features Supported for Import from Nastran Features Supported for Export to Nastran
