Connector for Abaqus/CAE helps Abaqus/CAE users leverage the power of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to manage their simulation data, collaborate across their organization, and view the results of an analysis with high-performance visualization apps.

3DEXPERIENCE Platform

Connector for Abaqus/CAE lets you:

  • Launch and access the full functionality of Abaqus/CAE from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, including the ability to run Python scripts and Abaqus user subroutines.
  • Import 3DEXPERIENCE products (parts or assemblies) into Abaqus/CAE.
  • Save files created during an Abaqus/CAE session (such as model database files) to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
  • Save the results from a job run in Abaqus/CAE to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
  • Open files in Abaqus/CAE that you saved to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in a previous session.

Your Abaqus/CAE data in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is managed in a collaborative space—an area where people with different job functions in your organization can work together to produce and deliver content. Saving your data to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform lets you:

  • Share results with colleagues and managers.
  • View the results with a sophisticated, high-performance viewer (Physics Results Explorer) or with a lightweight, browser-based viewer (Physics Simulation Review or 3DPlay). Physics Results Explorer uses parallel processing to take advantage of multicore systems and enables you to process the results of large, realistic finite element simulations.
  • Associate a lifecycle state with your data. The lifecycle state informs collaborators of the status of the data within the business process. It also determines who can access the object and the actions they can perform.
  • Provide traceability of your data by allowing you to save versions of your data along with a description of each version.
  • Use additional apps from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to associate your data with 3DEXPERIENCE objects. For example, you can use the Project Management app to associate the results of a simulation with a task.
