Creating Dependencies

You can specify the order in which you run test specifications and test cases.

Create Test Specification Dependencies

  1. From the Review pane, select a test specification.
  2. Select the Dependencies tab.
  3. From the Prerequisites field, search for the test specifications that should finish before other test specifications can start.

    Tip: You can also drag the test specification into the Prerequisites field.

  4. From the Dependents field, search for the test specifications that depend on the previously selected test specifications to finish.

    Tip: You can also drag the test specification into the Dependents field.

Validation and Verification Strategy establishes a dependency between each dependent and its prerequisite.

Create Test Case Dependencies

  1. From the Review pane, select a test case.
  2. Select the Dependencies tab.
  3. From the Prerequisites field, search for the test cases that should finish before other test cases can start.

    Tip: You can also drag the test case into the Prerequisites field.

  4. From the Dependents field, search for the test cases that depend on the previously selected test cases.

    Tip: You can also drag the test case into the Dependents field.
