About Contains Tab

The file list includes all drawings that reference the file.

The Where Used tab interface provides controls that let you increase or decrease the level of reference, select to display the current iteration or all iterations, and specify whether to include all attached iterations of the referenced part or subassembly or only the latest attached iteration.

Commands selections let you:

  • Export the file list as a comma-delimited file.
  • Open the file list in a spreadsheet.
  • Select the columns displayed.

Additional controls are available when you select a file. They let you:

  • Open the selected file in SOLIDWORKS.
  • Show for the file the properties, which include the data card for the file.
  • Opens the file information in the web client.
  • Open another Explorer window with listing of the selected file.
  • Change the view of the file listing. Views are Details and Content. Details shows a listing with several columns of information. Content shows the same information in a maximum of three columns and includes thumbnails of each file listed in the tab.
  • Select whether to show all references in the tree or only the top level of references.
  • Specify whether to include all attached iterations of the referenced part or subassembly or only the latest attached iteration.
  • Choose to show all iterations of the files where the selected file is used or to show only the iteration you select.
  • Choose the configuration of the selected file for which references are shown.

The tab also includes a re-sizable preview pane that displays a thumbnail of any file you select within the tab. If the thumbnail is not visible, click the arrow and, if necessary, resize the preview pane. To close the preview pane, click the arrow .
