You can use a Send To command to share search result files with other folders or with My Work. The system creates links in the target location while the files remain in their original folders.

    Option Description
Referenced Iteration Use this option to retrieve all the objects that are connected to the selected file at the time of check in. This option shows the physically connected structure. The option works within the same revision of all items in the given structure. Therefore, it displays the latest iteration within the selected revision. Check in and modification by all users results in As-Built view.
Referenced Iteration when performing on an older Iteration If the Get operation is initiated from an older iteration of a parent design and you apply "Referenced Iteration" view then, the retrieved structure displays the iteration of child designs that are connected to this iteration of parent design at the time of check-in resulting in As-Saved view.
Latest Iteration Provides the latest revision and iteration to all children objects in the dialog. This option considers the latest of everything outside the selected assembly's revision stream.
Latest released revision Use this option to display the latest released revision and iteration of the selected nodes and its underlying structure. If no released revision is found for a particular node, the system displays the node retrieved by applying the referenced iteration view to the parent node.
If you select a file with reference parts, such as an assembly or part with a drawing, the system automatically selects the Add check box for each of the reference files. The exception to this automatic selection occurs when the file already exists in the folder.
Note: You can only select the Add check box without selecting the Get check box for files you are sending to a workspace folder.

  5. To retrieve the file from the server, click the Get check box.

If you select a file with reference files, the system automatically retrieves the reference files. The exception to this automatic selection occurs when the file already exists in the folder.

Tips: To link only the file to a workspace folder and avoid retrieving a local copy, clear the Get check box for the file.

Whenever you select a Get check box for a file, you must also select the corresponding Add check box.

  6. Click Add.

For files sent to My Work, the files immediately appear in My Work. For files sent to a specific folder, the files immediately appear in the specified folder.
