Managing Media

This section shows how to work with media within your communities. A media can be embedded in Posts, Questions, Ideas, Wiki Pages, answers and comments. The following types of media are supported: image, including animated gif files, 360° images, video, audio, 3D Model, document, and drawings.

In particular, you can:

  • play any 3D-supported media wherever it is used. Click Play to open a lightweight player to discover 3D models. For example, a 3D XML file embedded in a post. You can also share 3D content as a picture that you can publish to a community, print, or download. Open the media or the content containing it, then in the top bar select Share > Share as picture. For more information, see 3D Modeling: 3DPlay for Dashboard: Sharing Content.
  • Open any media by clicking its header, or playing it while used, for example, within a post, to open it on the lightweight player, and:
    • Comment.
    • Share. Access the Share, Forward, Transfer to idea, Publish to 3DSwym, Share as Comment commands.
    • Information Access additional media information.
    • More. Access usual content management commands like downloading, or bookmarking.
  • click the 360° image, then click the image or Play. For more information, see 3D Modeling: 3DPlay for Dashboard.

When playing videos, you can hover your mouse over any section of the timeline to display a thumbnail of the selected frame.

If you play a video, which contains subtitles:

  • Click CC to activate them.
  • If several languages are proposed, select one.

If your video contains chapters, each chapter is displayed as a yellow circle in the timeline of the video player. Hover over the circle to see the chapter's title.
