For Cloud Only: CGR Generation
For SOLIDWORKS 2022SP1 and above versions, a cloud service is
deployed that generates CGRs asynchronously. This service is available through
interactive Save and Batch Save to
3DEXPERIENCE operations.
Benefits: This service improves the save performance.
Derived Format Options
All the options from the Derived Format tab of the
Options dialog box are moved to the
Settings page of the
Platform Management
widget.
As an impact of this, the Convert and
Derived Outputs columns are not available in the Save dialog
box.
Benefits: All the users will have the same conversion rules.
For more information, see
Settings in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
Asynchronous PDF Generation
During the save process, if appropriate rules are defined in the
Derived Format Management
app,
asynchronous PDFs are generated for the drawings.
Benefits: This gives better usability and improves save performance.
For more information, see
Settings in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
Asynchronous UDL Output
Earlier the UDL Derived Output was generated sequentially during the save
process and now they generated asynchronously on both the cloud and on-premises
platforms.
Benefits: This improves the save performance.
Managing Revisions
Replace by Latest Revision and Update
Revisions
command is introduced in the action bar
of MySession.
- With the Update Revisions command, you can select a
required type of revision for a single node or multiple nodes of the assembly. This
feature is available only for the data that is saved in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
- Along with this, the Replace by Latest Revision command
updates the revision of the selected object with the latest revision.
Benefits: With the presence of more elaborated revision commands, it is easy for the
user to build the latest revision.
For more information, see
MySession
Update Revisions
Improvements in MySession
New commands, columns, and tabs are added in the action bar
and context menu of MySession.
- The collaboration commands present in the Lifecycle tab of
action bar are moved to the Collaboration tab.
- The Display Side Panel command is added in the
View tab of the action bar.
- The Relations command is added to the context menu of a selected object.
- The Component Name column displays the component
information as available in the primary settings of the Component Name
and Description dialog box.
Benefits: The enhancements made improve the usability.
For more information, see
MySession
3D XML Import and Export
The exchange of SOLIDWORKS data with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform through 3D XML exchange is improved to support the Delegation and
Waive behaviors in an interactive mode. For more information,
see .
Benefits: Introduction of interactive mode for the data transfer is useful.
Checking Compatibility of Attribute Definition
While saving SOLIDWORKS data to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the values of the mapped attributes are verified for the compatibility of their
attribute definition. If there is any inconsistency an appropriate warning message is
displayed in the Status column of the Save
dialog box.
Benefits: Appropriate error description helps in understanding the outcome of the save
operation.
For more information, see
Save Dialog Box
Changes in the Batch Save to 3DEXPERIENCE Dialog Box
Bookmark, Move Up, Move Down, and
Upgrade files to current version are the options added to the
dialog box.
- Bookmark: With this option, you can specify objects as bookmarks and classify the 3DEXPERIENCE data under a bookmark structure.
- Move Up and Move Down: With these
options, you can reorder the selected folders.
- Upgrade files to current version: With this option, the
save performance is enhanced as the files are not saved locally if the option is not
selected.
Benefits: The enhancements made in the Batch Save to
3DEXPERIENCE Dialog Box improve the usability and save performance.
For more information, see
Saving Multiple Files in 3DEXPERIENCE
Opening PartSupply and Make in SOLIDWORKS
You can open the 3DMarketplace PartSupply and
Make apps directly from SOLIDWORKS.
- For PartSupply, you can open and download components from:
- The 3D Components - Part Supply
command on the Design Library tab in the Task
Pane.
- The Insert from PartSupply command by clicking
Insert Components (Assembly toolbar) or from PartSupply (Assembly Command
Manager).
- For Make, you can click the On Demand
Manufacturing command from the Evaluate
(Assembly toolbar) or (Assembly Command Manager).
Benefits: The improved access makes it easier for you to navigate to
PartSupply and Make and integrate them
in your SOLIDWORKS workflow.
