Java JRE
Preinstall the correct JRE version. Use 64-bit Java for a 64-bit Windows installation. If you
have a 32-bit JRE, or try to install a 64-bit (win_b64) 3DSpace Index package on a machine with a 32-bit (intel_a) processor, the setup displays an error
message. The Program Directory for your version explicitly states the recommended Java JRE
version.
System Settings
In the Windows Control Panel:
-
Exclude the data directory (in
<INSTALLDIR>/<OS>/cv) from the Indexing Options (if
Windows Search is enabled).
-
Turn off system protection and shadow copy on the drive that hosts the
data directory. Therefore, you cannot restore using the
Previous Versions in Windows Backup for the
data drive. For more information, see Windows help.
Make sure you have Powershell installed on the machine, and that the Environment Variables > Path
variable contains its path.
Disable Enhanced Security
On your Windows Server, verify that your Server manager > Local Manager
> IE Enhanced Security Configuration property is Off.

Connect Windows Server with 3DSpace
On Windows Server, to allow the BBDEnvEditor
and the
BBDAdminPlayer
tools to connect to the 3DSpace, you must
declare the http://3dspace.mydomain
URL in the server Internet
Options > Local intranet dialog.
Note:
Enter the first part of the 3DSpace URL
http://3dspace.mydomain/internal
as shown below.
Networking Prerequisites
- Localhost Setup
- The
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
file must have a reference
for the local host. You may use either the 127.0.0.1 hostname designator or
localhost.localdomain.
- Port Setup
-
The CloudView Server requires a continuous range of 100 TCP ports. By default, 3DSpace Index installation uses the default base port of 19000. If you cannot allocate 100 TCP ports in this range, select a different default with the available number of continuous ports.
