3DEXPERIENCE: Connected Software

This connector helps manage software embedded in complex systems. This connector is available with any role (including Systems Traceability Dashboarding).

Extracted Elements

The following elements are extracted:

  • Software item
  • Content of the data repository that is connected to the software item

Traceability Links

If implement links are created between logical and physical items, they are exposed with the RFLP connector. For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE: RFLP Objects.

Link set links can be created on the extracted elements. For more information, see Creating Links From a Link Set.

Software items and their connected files are displayed in several tree categories:

  • Connected Software: displays both logical and physical software items
  • Logical
  • Physical

Installation

To display the content (connected files) of a Software Item, a service call must be made from the 3DEXPERIENCE server to the associated external SCM adapter.

  • If the 3DEXPERIENCE and the SCM adapter are both running on-premises, software items are displayed with their connected files.
  • If the 3DEXPERIENCE is running on the cloud, your administrator must ensure that a network access to the host/port running the TomEE server running the SCM adapter is open so that the service request coming from the cloud can reach the SCM adapter.
