MySession

You can view, open, and, save the contents of Inventor® in 3DEXPERIENCE using MySession app. The MySession app displays a tree view of the active content of the Inventor® and a list of commands that you can access through action bar and right-click. This topic describes:

Preferences

The Preference page displays the information about the collaborative space and the tenant you are using. The two options on this page are:

  • Credentials : This option displays the title of the collaboarative space that you have logged into. You can select the required security context without logging out or closing the active session. The collaborative space from the selected security context can be seen at the top of MySession panel .
  • 3DEXPERIENCE Platform: This option displays the tenant name to which you are connected.

Column Headers

The following columns are displayed in the same order in the MySession app:

Column Name Description
Title Displays the objects. You can expand the structure of these objects from this column.
Revision Displays the revision of the object.
Is Latest Revision Shows if the revision of the object is the latest.
  • This is latest revision: latest revision
  • A more latest revision exists: not latest revision (+)
Status Displays an icon that represents the status of given revision of the object in 3DEXPERIENCE. There are below four icons:
  • : This indicates that the object is new in the Inventor® session and does not exist in 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • : Indicates that the object exists in 3DEXPERIENCE and has been modified after downloading from 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • : Indicates that the object is in 3DEXPERIENCE and is modified in Inventor®.
  • : Indicates that the object is in 3DEXPERIENCE and is not modified after downloading it from 3DEXPERIENCE
Lock Status Displays the reservation status of the object. This column is empty if the object does not exist in 3DEXPERIENCE. It is represented by three icons as follows:
  • : Locked by you
  • : Locked by another user
  • : Not locked
Maturity State Displays the lifecycle of the object.
File Name Displays the file name with extensions.
Name Displays the PLM external ID of the object
Type Displays the string of the objects that is if the object is a product or a drawing.
Description Displays the value of an attribute description of an object from 3DEXPERIENCE.
Collaborative Space Displays the collaborative space of the object. If the object is saved to 3DEXPERIENCE, the field is empty.
Creation Date Displays the creation date of an object, if the object is saved in 3DEXPERIENCE.
Modification Date Displays the latest modification date of an object, if the object is saved in 3DEXPERIENCE.
CAD Mastership Displays the CAD mastership of the object.
  • : Indicates an Inventor® object
  • : Indicates a CATIA V5 object
  • : Indicates a native 3DEXPERIENCE object
Note:
  • You can change the order of the displayed columns as follows:
    1. You can drag the visible columns.
    2. Click Customize View in the Tools section of the action bar or right-click the tree view. You can choose the columns to be visible.
  • Click a column header to sort a tree item as per the column and double-click a column to reverse the order.
  • You can resize the width of a column by dragging the separator or right-click the tree view.

Tree Content

The tree displays the contents of the active Inventor® session. All structures are expanded by default.

Objects Description
Inventor Part File (.ipt) The Inventor® feature tree displays the contents of the active part and the MySession app displays the active configurations of the object.
Inventor Assembly File (.iam) The Inventor® feature tree displays the contents of the assembly and the MySession app displays the assembly with its child parts.
Inventor Drawing File (.dwg) The Inventor® feature tree and the MySession app displays the drawing with its child parts.
Note:
  • You can directly select the rows in the tree from the MySession app.
  • You can select multiple lines as follows:
    1. Add the row to the selection by CTRL-click.
    2. Add the range of rows to the selection by SHIFT-click.

Contextual Menu

You can work on the contents of Inventor® using the right-click menu in the tree from the MySession app.

The right-click menu contains below commands:

Action Description
Expand all Expands multiple objects to display respective child parts.
Collapse all Hides child parts of multiple objects.
Save Opens the save dialog box to save selected objects.
Lock Reserves the selected object.
Unlock Removes the reservation of the selected object.
Maturity Promotes or demotes the selected objects.
New Revision Creates new revision of the selected object on the server and refreshes local information to reflect the new revision.
Properties Displays the 3DEXPERIENCE properties of the selected object.
Lifecycle Displays the lifecycle of the selected objects. When you pause over the lifecycle, the below commands are present:
  • Maturity
  • New Revision

    You can increase the revision of the selected object by using New Revision. The object in the Inventor® is revised with New Revision and the MySession app is refreshed.

  • Lock
  • Unlock
  • Get Revision
Get Attributes Synchronizes attributes per object between the 3DEXPERIENCE and Design with Inventor files. .
Note:
  • The Expand All and Collapse All are displayed if you do not refer the leaf node of the selected object.
  • When you select multiple objects, following commands are displayed:
    • Expand all.
    • Collapse all.
    • Save
    • Lifecycle
      • Lock
      • Unlock

Action Bar

You can also use the action bar to work with the contents of Inventor®. You can perform following actions from the action bar.

Action Description
New From Template Creates a new file from the template already saved to the 3DEXPERIENCE. For more information see, Creating New from Template.
Manage Templates Allows you to create, edit, or delete the template. For more information see, Managing Templates .
Get Attributes Synchronizes the attributes between the 3DEXPERIENCE and Design with Inventor files for all the objects present in current window. This command works only on the physical products that are in the In Work state.
Manage Local Files Displays the local workspace files in the Manage Local Files dialog box . For more information see, Managing Local Files

Save Active Window

You can access this command from the left standard area in the action bar.

Lifecycle

Action Description
Maturity Promotes or demotes the selected object.
New Revision Creates new revision of the selected object on the server and refreshes local information to reflect the new revision.
Lock Reserves the selected object.
Unlock Removes the reservation of the selected object.
Reload from Server Updates the selected revision in a session with the latest version that exists in 3DEXPERIENCE.
Replace by Revision Replace the selected object with another revision.
Change Ownership Transfers the ownership of a selected object to another user, collaborative space, and organization.

View

Action Description
Properties Displays the 3DEXPERIENCE properties of the selected object.
Expand Expands the selected object to display its child parts.
Note: Expand contains a flyout for multiple expansions of objects.
Select Selects an object. You can click Select while selecting multiple objects.

Tools

Action Description
Print with Print options Displays print options for the selected object.
Export with Export options Displays export options for the selected object.
Customize View Displays view customization options for the selected object.
Related Objects Displays related objects for the selected object.
Replace Content Replaces an assembly or a part in Inventor® with another assembly or a part.
Note: The selected part or assembly should be a leaf node.

Important:
  • When you open, close, or activate an Inventor® session, the MySession app is refreshed.
    Note: You can control the level of nodes expansion in the MySession by defining different MySessionExpandLevel flag values as follows.
    • MySessionExpandLevel flag value = 0: MySession shows only the root node.
    • MySessionExpandLevel flag value = 1: MySession is expanded to first level children.
    • MySessionExpandLevel flag value = 2: MySession is expanded to 2 level of children and so on.
  • If you select an object in Inventor®, its corresponding node is highlighted in MySession app but if you select a node in MySession app, the highlighted part is not activated.
  • The Properties, Get Revision, Lock, and Unlock commands are not activated.
Note: When you select the data from MySession widget, it is highlighted in the Inventor® app. When you select multiple data from MySession widget, the corresponding data is not highlighted in the Inventor® app.
