As-Built BOM Page

Users with Manufacturing Planner or Product Planner roles can view the As-Built BOM and the multi-level structure of units (builds or lots) attached to builds. You can use the additional filters provided to view current and shipped BOMs. In view mode, you can click the Edit button in the page toolbar to perform in-cell editing of certain attributes.

To access the As-Built BOM page, do one of the following:

  • Access the Properties page of a build and click the As-Built category. See Build Properties Page.
  • From the BOM PowerView page, click the As-Built category. See Manufacturing BOM Management User's Guide: Viewing Part Bill of Materials..
  • Use Unit Search:
    1. Search for units by clicking Search > Unit Tracking > Unit Search from the top bar. See About Searches.
    2. From the search results, click the highlighted link in the Name column of the unit you want to view, or click at the end of the row to view the Properties page in a new browser window.
    3. Click the As-Built category.

You can expand / collapse each as-built level by clicking the plus / minus sign to the left of the name.

Columns

By default, the As-Built BOM contains the following columns:

Column NameDescription
Name Name of the unit
Type Type or subtype of the unit
State The current state of the unit in its lifecycle
Qty The quantity of build or lot on the As-Built BOM. For a build, the value is 1. For a lot, it can be more than 1.
Replaced By The source unit the object was replaced by
As-Built Status The status of the unit. Possible status values are:
  • Installed. The child unit is physically installed and the field is displayed in green.
  • Install After Ship. The child unit is part of the assembly but will be installed to its parent in the assembly after shipping to the customer. The field is displayed in green.
  • Uninstalled. The previously installed child unit is uninstalled and the field is displayed in red.
  • Allocated. The child unit is reserved for its immediate parent assembly but is not physically installed. The field is displayed in blue.
Installed Date Date when the unit was installed.
Install After Ship Date Estimated date when the unit will be physically installed after shipping to the customer at their site.
Uninstalled Date Date when the unit was uninstalled, displayed in red.
Allocated Date Date when the unit was reserved/allocated.
Build Unit Number Assigned number for the build
Build Serial Number Assigned serial number for the build.
Build Shorthand Notation Assigned shorthand name for the build.
Build Disposition Current disposition of the build. By default, possible values are:
  • Production
  • Shipped
  • Service
  • Inventory
  • N/A
  • Blank
Planned Build Date Date when the build was intended to be built
Actual Build Date Date when the build was actually built
Date Shipped Date when the build was shipped
Part Number Part name or number
Part Revision Part revision name or number
Manufacturing Plant Plant responsible for manufacturing the build
Product The build's context product
Product Configuration The build's context product configuration. The product configuration must be related to the build's context product.
Owner Person who is currently assigned responsibility for the unit
Originator Person who created the unit. This person may not necessarily be the owner of the unit.

Filters

You can filter the As-Built BOM options based on the status of the BOM. Click to access Refinements.

FilterDescription
BuildClick to search for and select a different build / unit.
CurrentThis is the default view and displays the complete structure for the As-Built BOM, including installed units, allocated units, and uninstalled units. You can modify the As-Built BOM from this view.
As ShippedShows the As-Built structure of the unit that has been shipped to the customer. All the builds and lots are in the Release state. This is a read-only view; you cannot make any modifications.

Search in Context Allows you to search for units in the As-Built BOM. The Matching Criteria box opens. Enter any of the following:
  • Build Unit Number
  • Build Serial Number
  • Lot Name

Click Done and the matching unit is highlighted.
