Editing Part Markings

Senior Design Engineers can make changes to the attributes of an existing part marking object only when it is in the Create state.

  1. From the page toolbar, click Edit Details.
  2. Make modifications as necessary. The following can be changed:

    FieldDescription
    DescriptionYou can add details to the part marking description or replace the existing description.
    Marked BySelect Lot Number or Serial Number. Lot Number is used for lots. Serial Number is used for builds.
    Additional Marking CharacteristicsSelect additional part marking characteristics. The following are available by default:
    • Mark Part Name
    • Mark Part Type
    • Mark Part Revision
    • Mark Product
    • Mark Tooling ID
    • Mark Date
    Marking MethodSelect one of the marking methods from the drop-down list. The following are available by default. You may see different options depending on your system configuration.
    • Vibropeen
    • Stamp
    • Label
    • Other
    Other Marking Method Enter an alternate marking method, applicable only if "Other" is selected as the Marking Method. This cannot be one of the default Marking Method values.

  3. Click Done.

The part marking changes are updated and the edit page is closed.
