Applying or Removing a Manikin Posture

You can apply (predefined) postures on a manikin (human) inside a View. You can use this to apply different postures (on the same manikin) in different Views.


Before you begin: Similar to other 3D Instruction authoring commands, these commands are available (active) whenever:
  • there are one/more existing Views for the selected Operation.
  • activate the Views.

  1. Click Applying Manikin Posture from the Instruction Authoringaction bar.
  2. In the work area, click the Manikin (human), or click the Item & Resource panel.
    A panel is displayed listing all the Postures that are already defined on the selected Manikin.

    Note:
    • This ignores non-Human selections made by you.
    • Ignores selections of unassigned Humans in the 3D. An example is a Buildup options panel that has the Show all Resources option selected.
    • If no Posture has been predefined on the selected Human, then a warning message displays Selected Resource does not have any Postures. Exiting Command. and it closes.
    • Manikin (Human) can be preselected before selecting the command.
  3. Select a Posture.

    A small thumbnail of the Posture is shown before the Posture name. A larger (preview) image appears when you select a Posture from the list.

    Note: The OK is disabled until selecting a Posture. The preview image generates and stores when the Posture is defined in the Ergonomics at Work app. So the background color/ambience seen in the preview may not match the current background color/ambience seen in Work Instructions.

    If the command is run and a Manikin is selected for which a Posture was previously applied, then the previously applied Posture is preselected in the panel.

    A check mark next to the Posture indicates that it has been applied to the Manikin in the current View.

    You can preview other Postures.

  4. Click OK to apply another Posture, or Cancel to keep the recently applied Posture.
  5. Right-click and select Apply in the View.
    The image updates with the new specifications.
  6. To remove a manikin posture, click Remove Manikin Posture from the Instruction Authoringaction bar.
  7. In the work area, click the Manikin, or select the Item & Resource panel.
    Note: Manikin can be preselected before running the command.
  8. Right-click Update in the View.
    The image updates with the new specifications, and a confirmation message displays, Posture "Reach 1" is no longer applied to the Resource.

    The Restore All in the Item & Resource for the Manikin can also be used to unapply any previously applied Posture.

    Note: This command removes all your applied changes, posture, visibility, position, and more.
