Viewing Content

When viewing both 2D and 3D content, you can use the mouse to perform specific visualization operations, such as move the camera, zoom in or out, etc. When viewing 3D content, you can access contextual commands in the 3D area to tune the visual quality or choose an ambience.

Note: You can also use standard 3DEXPERIENCE mouse operations.

Proceed as explained:

Task Action

Actions common to 2D and 3D content

Move the camera Click the scroll wheel , and then drag in any direction.
Define the rotation center With the scroll wheel , click the point you want to define as the rotation center, and then drag in any direction.
Zoom in You can either:
  • Click the scroll wheel , and then spin forward.
  • Click right , and then drag up.
Zoom out You can either:
  • Click the scroll wheel , and then spin backward.
  • Click right , and then drag down.

Actions for 2D content only (with several sheets)

Go to the previous sheet Pan the current sheet to the left border of the image, or click the sheet in the preview pane.
Go to the next sheet Pan the current sheet to the right border of the image, or click the sheet in the preview pane.

Actions for 3D content only

Tune the visual quality Right-click in the 3D area, and select Visual Quality.

Note: This command is also available when playing the markup, review, and interference experiences.
Change the ambiance

Right-click in the 3D area, and select from the available ambiances: Pure White, White Mirror, White Review, Studio, Dark Mirror, Dark Review, White Design, Blue Design, Dark Design, Indoor, City, Road, Outdoor, and Basic.

Note: Ambiences are also available when playing the markup, review, and interference experiences.
Rotate the camera Click left , and then drag horizontally or vertically to rotate around the center of the 3D area.

Optionally, click the scroll wheel to set a new center of rotation point, then click left and drag to rotate.

Note: You can also use the dedicated command in the action bar. On touch devices, you can use touch gestures to view your content.
