Tweaking Materials

Material tweaking allows you to modify already assigned materials and textures for a Scene.

The tweaking of a material applies to all parts at once having the same material assigned in the current Scene.

Depending on whether you have already tweaked your material for the current Scene or not, the access to the material properties differs:

  • To tweak a material that you have not yet modified for the current Scene, select the part (either in the content panel or in the viewer) to which this material is assigned. In the Properties panel, on the right side a Material tab is displayed with the properties of the applied material. Now you are able to tweak the material. For more information, see Material Properties
  • To change an already tweaked material, select the associated material change in the content panel. For more information, see Changes. The Material properties panel on the right side displays all the properties of the already tweaked material.

If you select a material it can happen that in the Material properties panel under the material's name, the following visual hint appears: This material type is not supported. It cannot be edited. In this case, you cannot modify this material because of:

  • an unsupported texture extension;
  • an unsupported material type;
