Materials Panel

The Materials panel provides an overview of all materials in the Experience. Additionally all material changes done in the current Scene are listed here.

You can access the Materials panel by selecting the corresponding tab in the Content panel.

To manage the materials or their changes, use the Context toolbar. For more information, see Context Toolbars.

This page discusses:

Changes

Lists modifications like tweaked material properties or texture properties for the current Scene.

Note: Modifications on a material apply to all parts, including those of different products, to which this material is assigned to in the current scene.

The following modifications can appear in the Changes list:

Material Property Change
Indicates a modification of the material's properties.
For more information about modified material types, see Tweaking Materials.
Texture Property Change
Indicates a modification of the materials texture properties.
For more information about modified material types, see Tweaking Materials .

A material can have two changes - one for the modification of the material properties, and another for modifications of the texture properties. The selection of a material change in the Content panel highlights all parts in the product structure the tweaked material type is assigned to in gray. Furthermore, the material change selection triggers the display of the properties panel for that material.

Materials List

Lists all materials that are available inside your Experience.

You can find the material list below the line in the lower part of the panel. The list is ordered alphabetically. If you have an Experience with more than one product, the assigned materials of all products are collectively listed.

Note: Materials persist in the content panel even if the part they were assigned to, is removed from the Experience.

When selecting a material from the list all parts that have the material assigned are highlighted in blue in the viewer. In parallel the properties panel of the selected material opens, see Material Properties.

Product Material
Indicates a material inserted together with the product, because it was assigned to a part of it.
For more information about inserting products, see Inserting Products.
Inserted Material - Used
Indicates an inserted material that is applied to at least one part inside the Experience.
For more information about inserting materials, see Inserting Materials and Assigning Materials.
Inserted Material - Unused
Indicates an inserted material that is not used inside or assigned the Experience.
For more information about inserting materials, see Inserting Materials.
