Selecting Parts

You can select any part of a product in the scene, to modify, for example, its visibility or transformation.

Select the Lowest Level Part of a Product in the Viewport

You can select the lowest level part of a product directly in the viewport on desktop and tablet devices.

  1. Click or tap once the product in the viewport.
    The whole model is selected and highlighted in blue.
  2. Click or tap the part of the model that you want to select.

You select the lowest level part of the product and this part is highlighted in blue.

Select a Part of a Product in the Viewport

You can select a specific part of a product directly in the viewport on desktop and tablet devices.

  1. Click or tap once the product in the viewport.
    The whole model is selected and highlighted in blue.
  2. Click or tap a part of the model.
    • The part that you click or tap is selected and highlighted in blue. This part corresponds to the lowest level part of the product.
    • A context toolbar appears and lets you perform various actions for the selected part.
  3. On the context toolbar, click or tap Show Product Tree .

    A new context toolbar appears and displays thumbnails that reflect the parts composing the structure of the product tree.

    On this context toolbar, the hierarchical structure of the product progresses from left to right:

    • The lowest level part is on the far left of the list.
    • The entire product is on the far right of the list.

    Tip: Hovering over the thumbnail of a part in the Show Product Tree context toolbar highlights this part in white. This helps you to differentiate your current selection (highlighted in blue) from the part that you want to select.
  4. On the context toolbar, click or tap the part that you want to select.

    Note: The context toolbar displays the parts that you can select only up to 10 levels in the hierarchy of the product tree.

Select a Part in the Content Panel on Desktop Devices

You can use the content panel on desktop devices to select any part of the product from the tree structure.

  1. Open the Models tab in the content panel on the left.
    The panel lists all the products in your scene.
  2. Click the arrow next to the product whose part you want to select.
    The tree structure of the product opens.
  3. Navigate to the part that you want to select.
  4. Click once the name of the part that you want to select.

The corresponding part is selected and highlighted in the viewport.
