Material

The Materials tab in the Information panel lists the materials that comprise a product.

For example, if a panel is made of steel and coated in plastic, the steel core material and plastic covering material are listed in the Material tab. Materials that do not comprise a product but are part of the product appear only in the product structure.

To view the properties for a material:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • To view the materials for a product in the child product list, select the product in the list.
    • To view the materials for the open product, ensure that nothing is selected.

  2. Click information and select the Material tab.
  3. Click for the material and select Properties.

Property Description
Type The title, either "Core Material" or "Cover Material".
Name

The unique identifier of the object, automatically defined at creation.
Description

The description of the object, if defined. If you enter a URL, an email address, or a File Transfer Protocol link, this text is clickable and opens the link.

Revision

The revision level of the object.
Title

The user-defined title of the object.
Owner

To change the owner, use 3DSearch to select a user.

Important: You can only select a user that is in the same collaborative space and organization. For more information, see Changing the Owner of Objects and Moving Objects to Another Collaborative Space or Organization.

Creation Date The date on which the material was created.
Modification Date The date on which the material was last modified.
Organization Who owns the design responsibility for the material. The organization is based on the login credentials.
Collaborative Space

The collaborative space the object belongs to.
Maturity State

The current maturity state of the object.
