About the Graph

xGenerative Design offers the capability to switch from the 3D view to a graphical view of your design. Thanks to the graph, you get a global view of the dependencies between the collections of objects, parameters, and operators within your model.

In the graph, you can enrich your design and work with nodes that represent operations. Their inputs and outputs can easily be connected to each other.

Using the graph enhances the management of operations. For example, a parameter can be extracted, renamed, and broadcast as a global parameter which is accessible from the Controllers panel.

Moreover, you can structure the graph according to your design process and methodology by organizing groups of nodes into regions. This improves the clarity of your model.

Term Definition
Operation An operator added to the graph.

Node A box representing an operation.
Connector A bullet icon representing the input and output of an operation.
Region A group of operations.

Opening the Graph

You can display the graph using one of the following methods:

  • From the Fixed Area of the action bar, click Display Graph .
  • In the tree:
    • Select a design sequence, and then click Display Graph on the context toolbar.
    • Double-click the node of a design sequence.
