Visualizing Content

Several capabilities allow you to identify your content both in the 3D area and in the graph editor.

This task shows you how to:

Reframe the View in the Graph Editor

In the graph editor, you can center the view on an operation selected in the 3D area.

  1. In the 3D area, select an operation.
  2. On the context toolbar, click Center in Graph .
    In the graph editor, the view is reframed on the selected operation.
    Note:
    • If the graph editor is not open yet, clicking Center in Graph opens the editor.
    • The command is also available in the menu available in the header of the operation dialog box.

Reframe the View in the 3D Area

In the 3D area, you can center the view on the output geometry of an operation selected in the graph editor.

  1. In the graph editor, select an operation.

    You can also select a group of operations.

  2. On the context bar, click Reframe the 3D Viewer on the output result .

    In the 3D area, the view is reframed on the output geometry.

Tips:
  • You can also middle-click a node to reframe the view on its output geometry.
  • The Automatic 3D reframe from selection option allows to center the 3D area's view automatically on the output of an operation whenever you select a node in the graph editor. For more information, see Customizing Preferences in the Graph Editor.

Highlight Content

Whether you work in the graph editor or in the 3D area, selecting an operation highlights it in both views.

  1. Select an operation either in the tree or in the 3D area.

    Tip: You can also hover over an operation.

    In the graph editor, the corresponding operation is highlighted.
  2. In the graph editor, select an operation.

    Tip: You can also hover over an operation.

    The corresponding operation is highlighted in the tree and in the 3D area.
