Resolved By Page for an Issue

This page lists information about objects that were used to solve the issue, such as an Engineering Change or a Defect.

For example, an issue can be reported against a certain product and an Engineering Change is in process for that product which also resolves this issue. So the issue is "resolved by" that Engineering Change. When the Engineering Change is completed, this Issue can be promoted to Closed.

Actions/Toolbar Commands

Action Description For More Information
Create Issue Creates a separate issue that resolves this issue.

For example, if an issue involves several different fixes that combined would resolve this issue, you can create individual issues for each of those fixes. When all of those issues are complete, this issue can be promoted to complete.

Creating Issues
Create Defect from Issue If Defect Management is also used, creates a Defect based on the Issue. The Issue must be promoted beyond the Create state. If you did not create the Issue, you must be an Issue Manager or Analyst to create a Defect. Defect Management and Collaboration User's Guide
Add Existing Adds another object that resolves this issue. The types of objects that you can add depend on your access role and the apps you use. The Advanced Search option of 3DSpace opens to let you easily enter criteria to find the specific object you want to add.

To add an object, these conditions must exist:

  • You own, co-own, or are an assignee for the Issue.
  • You must have at least the Contributor access role; users with the Reader access role cannot add content

Predefined Queries
Add External Adds a proxy object for an external object to the list.
