Use the Merge Assistant
To access this assistant, click the message to display the merge toolbar in the collaborative Heads-Up Display (HUD) and click Merge Assistant .
- Click the line in the chat window indicating that a
collaborator has shared a briefcase with you.
The fan menu appears. You can choose an option to see the briefcase content.
Tip: Click the line indicating that a collaborator has shared a briefcase with you each time you want to see the content of a sent briefcase. Otherwise you are not placed in the right briefcase. - Unfold the fan menu by clicking the up arrow. You can select the icon you need depending on what you want to do.
- Click Merge Assistant .
The Merge Assistant Dialog box appears.
- Choose one of the options from the list:
- Merged view to have the features got from
a merge displayed.
Tips: - An interactive preview of the briefcase
content is displayed above the turn table for
the Merged view.
- As the preview is interactive, if changing the status of a feature of the turn table (for example , switching a hole to No merge), you cannot see the selected feature on the turn table anymore. The preview is automatically updated. The feature is not merged to the preview anymore.

- Not merged view to have the features not
merged yet displayed.
Tip: When selecting the No merged view option, you can see the current part you work on above the turn table.
Tip: A system of cross highlight is available for both Merged view and No merged view options. Therefore, when selecting a feature available on the turn tables, the feature is highlighted in the part displayed above the turn tables and in the specification tree. Important: - The features are displayed according to the status of the selected feature (step 5).
- This view is open in any apps accessing Collaborative Design using representations.
- Merged view to have the features got from
a merge displayed.

Right-click the down arrow of the menu at the upper right corner of the
Merge Assistant dialog box and select one of the
following options:
- Show All Items: All the features contained in
the briefcase are displayed on the turn table (constraints,
sketch...).
- Show Major Items: Only the most important features contained in the briefcase are displayed.
- Show All Items: All the features contained in
the briefcase are displayed on the turn table (constraints,
sketch...).

Choose one of the visualization options presented. The
Updated, Older,
Conflict, and
New options are selected by default. The features
corresponding to these options appear on the Turn Table in the same color as
that of the options selected.
Tips: - You can select several check boxes at the same time. The corresponding features are displayed.
- When there is no feature to display, a message appears to inform you that there is no feature to display.
- In addition to your explicit selection during the sharing action, the briefcase also contains other features that are required to reconstruct the model in a different document. These additional features are properly positioned on the destination part when the merge is done.
- Finish the merge by clicking:
- Cancel: It closes the Merge Assistant dialog box. The modifications are not applied (no merge is done.)
- Merge: It closes the Merge Assistant dialog box and the merge of the received briefcase is performed.
