Choosing Preferences

You can choose your preferences for Compare.

  1. From the menu at the upper-right corner, click Preferences .
  2. Choose your settings for the following preferences:

    Preference Description

    3DEXPERIENCE Platform

Platform currently used inside the app to manage stored content.

On the cloud, you can choose among all the platforms available for the connected user.

Important: If there is only one available platform, then this preference is not available.

For more information about content management when switching platforms in a multi-platform cloud environment, see Switching Between Cloud Platforms.

Tip: Hover over the icon in the widget header to display the current platform. You can double-click the icon to open the widget preferences and choose another platform. For more information, see Select a Platform for your Widget.

    Credentials

Credentials used inside the app to apply rules and visibility on the content. They also determine the location of new objects.

Select from the list the credentials (access role, organization, collaborative space) you want to use. You can choose from the credentials assigned to you on the current 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Note: If the organization is the same for all your credentials, it is not displayed.

By default, the credentials defined as the default ones for the user in 3DSpace are used. If the dashboard app is removed from a dashboard and added again, the preferences are reset and the default credentials are used again.

    Show overview

    Displays the overview.

This option is identical to the corresponding command in the action bar. If you select it, the command is also activated.

By default, this option is selected.

    Show compare status legend

Displays the Compare Status legend at the top of the widget.

This option is identical to the corresponding command in the action bar. If you select it, the command is also activated.

By default, this option is selected.

    Consider all revisions as equivalent

Considers all the revisions as identical in the structural comparison.

If you select this option, revisions are not indicated in the structural comparison.

If you clear this option, revisions are indicated as Revised in the structural comparison.

    Consider all duplicates as equivalent

Considers all the duplicates as identical in the structural comparison.

If you select this option, duplicates are not indicated in the structural comparison.

If you clear this option, duplicates are indicated as Similar in the structural comparison.

    Use index

    Activates index acceleration.

The index enables better response times, but recent updates may not have been indexed yet. In that case, accessing the data directly from the database enables you to have the most up-to-date information.

To deactivate index acceleration and access information directly from the database, clear this option.

Note: The index mode is not available when comparing requirement specifications.

By default, this option is selected.

    Show attachments and specification documents

Displays and compares the attached documents and the specification documents in the structure comparison.

By default, this option is selected.

    Show other available relations

Displays and compares requirement relations ( implementing and implemented by), proposed solutions relations, and space assignment relations in the structure comparison.

Note: The children of these objects are not displayed in the structure comparison.

By default, this option is selected.

3D viewer display when selecting an object in the structure comparison Isolate the object and hide the others Displays only the objects you select in the structure comparison in the 3D viewer.

In this guide, this option is referred to as the isolate mode.

Select the object and display the others Displays the whole model in the 3D viewer, and highlights the objects selected in the structure comparison.

You can select other objects from the 3D viewer. For more information, see Comparing the Geometry of Objects.

In this guide, this option is referred to as the select mode.

Important: In the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform option, if objects are loaded in Compare and you select a different platform than the one these objects belong to, a dialog box appears. You can:
    • Change the platform and use the one you specified in the option. The objects loaded in Compare are removed.
    • Cancel the modifications and keep using the current platform. The objects remain loaded in Compare.

  3. Click one of the following:
    • Save as Default to save your preferences as the default settings for the app.
    • Save to Current Widget to save your preferences for the current widget only. These settings override the default ones, but are not used the next time you open the app.
