Rendering a Batch

You can render multiple views and configurations of a product in a single operation.

You must have the appropriate role to render a batch.

  1. Optional: In the Preferences dialog box, under Batch Render, specify the directory where all the rendered images are saved.
  2. Optional: From the Rendering section of the action bar, click Setup Background Render , and specify the background rendering options such as Product Outputs and Stop Criteria.
  3. From the Rendering section of the action bar, click Render Batch .
  4. In the Render Batch dialog box, edit the following options:

    Configured Product If more than one, select the product actor containing the configurations you want to render.
    Note: If you do not select any product actor, the current scene is rendered.
    Cameras Select one or more camera viewpoints.
    Notes:
    • If you do not select any camera viewpoints, the Render command is unavailable.
    • Only selected cameras generate a rendering output.
    Configurations Select one or more product configurations.
    Notes:
    • If you do not select any product configurations, the product's current state is included in the rendering process.
    • Only selected configurations generate a rendering output.
    Project Name Enter a name for your project.
    Notes:
    • The name must contain only alphanumeric characters.
    • Project Name defines the output directory you defined in the Preferences.
  5. Click Render to begin the rendering process.
    According to the options you defined in the Preferences and in the Setup Background Render dialog box, jobs are sent to the queue on a local or distributed rendering server. A job is created for each combination of camera viewpoints and product configurations.

    The dialog box automatically closes when all the jobs are in the queue.

  6. Optional: From the Rendering section of the action bar, click Monitor Background Renders to manage the background rendering process.

    When finished, the rendered images are stored in the output directory you defined in the Preferences.
