Tracing

You can trace global variables, function calls, or variables in a function call.

Note: You can combine tracing of global variables, tracing of function calls, and tracing of variables in a function.

Before you begin: The related script must be displayed and active in the Modelica Script Editor.

Tracing Global Variables

  1. In the Modelica Script Editor, right-click and select Trace > Trace Global Variables.
  2. Execute the script.
    The result of the tracing appears in the command log, visible in the Messages Reporting window.

Tracing Functions Calls or Variables in a Function

  1. Select the related function call by double-clicking the name.
  2. Right-click and select one of the following commands depending what you want to do:
    • Trace > Trace Function Call
    • Trace > Trace Variables in Function
  3. Execute the script.
    The result of the tracing appears in the command log, visible in the Messages Reporting window.
