Generating Ergonomic Reports

This functionality produces comprehensive report files from specifications.

This gathers the results of the various analyses found in the apps including an analysis of the manikin's sight tree.

Report Definition

The Report Definition commands functionality.

  1. Click Ergonomics Report .
  2. Select the Manikin.
  3. The Report Definition dialog box appears.
  4. You can choose any combination of analyses to populate the report, by switching them from the Available column to the Selected column.
    See Reports for more information.
  5. Any combination of analyses can activate, and each report object points to a valid output file. A specific analysis in the above list is selectable for activation only if the proper product license confirms succeeds for this analysis. For example, the Push/Pull and RULA analyses is selectable only if the Human Activity Analysis product is installed.
  6. While Editing the report properties, clicking another manikin switches that report object to the new manikin. The name of the manikin associated with the report object appears in the Manikin field. Also, a default name (that is Report1 Report 2...) assigns to the report object. Change the name before you select OK.

    When completed, the new report object appears under the selected manikin, in the Tree:

  7. Right-clicking the Report1 shows the options available.

Manikin Reports in the Tree

  1. Double-clicking the Report 1(1 Analysis) opens the Report Definition dialog box, which is in the Profiles section of the Manikin.
  2. Right-clicking the Report1 in the Tree opens the context menu.
  3. The selections for the window are:
    • Reporting Capabilities - Updating.
    • Update's the Report.
    • Reviewing a Report.
    • Defining input Parameters for Reports.
    • Deactivate (deactivates the report)
  4. Start the Update after configuring the report object for a specific manikin.

    This causes each active report object to update, and each object sends the results of the activated analyses into its respective log file.

    Note: The dialogs of the corresponding analyses do not need to be open for the report objects to work. That is, the relevant analyses perform in the background, using the manikin's current posture, and no message pops up during the process.

Generating Push-Pull Analysis Reports

This produces comprehensive report files from the manikin specifications.

This gathers the results of the various analyses, including an analysis of the manikin's sight.

Before you begin: The Push-Pull analysis input parameters:
  • Guideline.
  • 1 push every (frequency).
  • Distance of push.
  • Distance of pull.
  • Population Sample.
  1. Click Push-Pull Analysis .
  2. Select the Manikin, and the Push-Pull Analysis dialog box appears.
  3. Select the Guideline and the Specifications, required, and Close the dialog box and return to the Ergonomics Evaluation apps.
  4. Select Update .
  5. Using the explorer, locate and open the file.

Generating Lift-Lower Analysis Reports

This produces comprehensive report files from the manikin specifications. This gathers the results of various analyses, including an analysis of the manikin's sight.

Before you begin: The Lift-Lower Analysis analysis cannot be directly activated within a report object, because this analysis, unlike the others, requires two input postures, instead of one, to operate. The log for this analysis is managed by the Lift-Lower analysis itself. This is enhanced by adding a Reporting section, which composes of a file chooser with a text field, and an Update Log. This stores the results of the current analysis into the specified log file. The Update of the apps has no effect on the Lift-Lower analysis log file.
  1. Click Lift-Lower Analysis .
  2. Select the Manikin.
    The Lift-Lower Analysis dialog box appears. See Lift-Lower Analysis Dialog Box
  3. Select the Guideline and the Specifications required. In the Posture area, record the Initial, and Final Posture.
  4. The Report area becomes active.
  5. Select Open to select the Output File.
  6. The File Selection dialog box appears. Select where you would like to save this data, select a file name, and Open.
  7. The path and file name appears in the Report section in the Output File.
  8. The result appears in the Score Area.
  9. Select the Update icon in the Lift-Lower Analysis dialog box to export the score into the file.
  10. Using the explorer, locate, and open the file.
