Customizing Preferences

You can access and customize preferences for simulation, including for the finite element model and mesh.

  1. From the top bar, select Me > Preferences, and then click the App Preferences tab.
  2. In the left-hand pane, expand Simulation, and then Physics Simulation.

    The apps are further organized by subcategory.

  3. Select the app or the subcategory, if present.
  4. In the right-hand pane, expand the section corresponding to the options you want to customize.

    Subcategory Section Description
    None Python The executable path and library paths for a configured Python development environment.
    Common Model FE Model Settings for model and mesh.
    Graphics Settings for mesh display.
    Quality Settings for quality mesh criteria.
    Common Result High Performance Visualization Number of CPU cores allocated to visualization of large models, remote hosting, Large File Management, and performance options for visualization.
    Experience Content Logo and disclaimer used in experience content.
    Report Size and format for pictures used in the report.
    Plots and Legend Various options controlling the display of plots and legends; and for saving model plot and sensor templates.
    Common Execution Execution Various options controlling the execution of simulations, including remote execution.
    Model Assembly Design Model Editor Name of the file that is created when Model Assembly Design imports an External Simulation Representation into the current product structure.

  5. Specify these options according to your needs.
