Managing my Channels

This page describes how to create and edit channels in My3DEXPERIENCE.

Note: These features are not available to 3DEXPERIENCE Advocacy users.

Create a Channel

Follow the steps below to create a channel.

  1. Click Create new channel from the left pane.
    The Create channel panel appears.
  2. Enter a keyword in the search field. For example, enter aircraft.
    Result:
    • The keyword you entered is added as topic in the right pane under Your selection. The number of articles related to this topic is also displayed.
    • Related topics and sources linked to your search are displayed in the Search for Topics & Sources tab.
  3. Refine your channel content:

    • (optional) Select additional topics and/or similar expressions to follow in Follow more topics.
    • (optional) Select specific sources to follow in Filter on sources.

    Note that content belonging to communities you don't have access to is displayed, but greyed. Click Join to request a community signup and get access to this content in your channel.

    The topics and sources you selected are displayed in the right pane under Your selection. The number of articles is also displayed.
  4. Optional: In the Search for Topics & Sources tab, clear your search query and repeat steps 2 and 3 as many times as you want to add topics or sources related to more keywords.

    Hover over a topic or a source to display the number of people already following the topics or sources you selected.

  5. In the Name your Channel field, enter the name of your channel.
  6. Click Create.

Your channel is created and its content is displayed.

Update a Channel

You can update the channels that you created to add or remove content.

  1. Click the name of the channel that you want to edit from the My Channels section of the left pane.
    The content of your channel displays.
  2. Click in the upper right corner and select Edit .
    The Update Channel panel opens and displays:
    • The content of the current channel in the Preview tab.
    • The topics and sources you selected previously and the channel name in the right pane.
  3. To remove a source or a topic, click in the right pane.
  4. To add topics or sources related to a new keyword to your channel content, go to the Search for Topics & Sources tab and:

    • Enter the keyword in the search field.
    • Select the topics and sources you want to follow.

  5. (optional) Select the Preview tab to see the updated content.
  6. Click Update.

Your channel is updated.

Delete a Channel

You can delete a channel that you created previously.

  1. Click the name of the channel that you want to delete from the My Channels section of the left pane.
  2. Click in the upper right corner.
  3. Select Delete.

You are redirected to The Wire content and the channel no longer appears in the My channels list.

Warning: When you delete a channel, the action is permanent and irreversible.
