Routing Private Virtual Links on a Network

You can route private virtual links on a network.

Note: With the Avionics Architect (AVARA) role, you can work with Ethernet networks for Avionics.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin:

Create private virtual links.
Create a network.
Create options and paths for the network.
Important: The options must contain paths enabling to connect the entry of a virtual link to its exits.

Route a Private Virtual Link from a Network

You can route a private virtual link from a network in the tree.

In the Networks folder, right-click a network and select Route Virtual Links.
In the Route Virtual Links dialog box, select one or more options.
In the table at the bottom of the dialog box, select the virtual links to be routed on the network.

The private virtual link is routed on the network and updated in the virtual links table editor.

You can route a private virtual link from the virtual links table editor.

Double-click the Virtual Links folder in the tree.
The virtual links table editor appears. For more information, see Virtual Links Table Editor.
In the virtual link row, click Route virtual link on networks under the Routed on column.

Note: You can also right-click a virtual link in the tree and select Route Virtual Link.
From the Network list of the Route Virtual Link dialog box, expand a network.
The available network options are displayed.
Select an option.
If the option has complete or incomplete paths for the virtual link, corresponding paths are displayed in the Paths pane.
Tip: The path information is also visible as a tooltip from the icon , displayed closed to the Network list.

Optional: To find a specific option, enter the name in the Filter results field.

The field provides the following capabilities:


Action	Description
Clear filter value	Clears the Filter results field
Case sensitive	Enables case-sensitive constraint on the filtered results

To route the virtual link on the selected network option, click Route close to the selected option.
The selected network option appears in the New Routes pane, under the Routed on column.
Optional: To remove the network option from the New Routes pane, click under the Action column.

The private virtual link is routed on the network and updated in the virtual links table editor.
